NATIVE TONGUE

"WHENEVER I EAT IT, I REMEMBER HOW PROMISING LIFE COULD BE."

Native Tongue is a series of eight exquisitely photographed food portraits that romanticize Filipino street cuisine and offer rare perspective into lives entirely dedicated to creating them. We hear stories of generational craft, hard work, family values, perseverance, danger, and the joy humble street cuisine can bring.

"Life is tough for the hard working man, we all die younger. I've had a driver bump into my buckets and point a gun in my face....I think about my children when I need inspiration. Even when my body aches, I'll still get out of bed."

Native Tongue is an Official Selection to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
